The Norseman™ XPA series explosion-proof panel heater is an advanced solution for hazardous locations, available in 120V, 208V, and 240V configurations with options for 50 Hz and 60 Hz operation. It is CCSAUS certified for Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups A, B, C & D, and ATEX/IECEx/EAC certified for Ex d IIC or IIB, with temperature classifications T2 (215°C), T3, or T4, and has an IP66 rating. The heater features a custom extruded aluminum convector assembly with a high-density fin array, optimized for efficient convective heat transfer, and is anodized black for enhanced heat transfer and corrosion resistance. It is supplied with an explosion-proof junction box, a mounting bracket, and necessary hardware. The unit includes dual levels of temperature control: a nonadjustable thermostat maintaining space temperatures between 50°F and 64°F (10°C and 18°C), and a thermal fuse with a fixed limit for safety compliance. Optional accessories include junction boxes, pre-set thermostats, adjustable thermostats, and protection grilles. The Norseman™ XPA is particularly suited for freeze protection of control enclosures in environments with explosive atmospheres, as well as for moderate heating needs in confined spaces such as control cabinets, instrument enclosures, and small storage rooms.
