The Merit 316 SS Schedule 10 reducing tee measures 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1" and is designed for butt-welding applications. Butt welding is the preferred method for joining pipe connections, requiring that the fitting and the pipe have the same wall thickness and diameter. Both the pipe and the fitting are beveled, allowing the ends to butt together to create a groove for the weld filler.
