The Merit 316 SS Schedule 40 concentric reducer measures 1-1/2 inches by 1 inch and features a butt-weld female connection type. Butt welding is the preferred method for joining pipe connections, as it requires the pipe and fitting to have the same wall thickness and diameter. Both the pipe and fitting are beveled, allowing the ends to butt together and form a groove for the weld filler.
