Product Details
This ultrasonic thickness gauge is a portable device designed for non-destructive measurement of the thickness of various materials, including steel, cast iron, aluminum, acrylic resin, red copper, brass, zinc, quartz glass, polyethylene, PVC, grey cast iron, and nodular cast iron. The R7920 utilizes high-frequency sound waves to determine material thickness by measuring the time it takes for the sound waves to return to the gauge. It features user-adjustable high/low alarms, an easy-to-read backlit LCD display, user-selectable units of measure (in/mm), and an internal memory that can store up to 300 measurements. Other specifications include the display of sound velocity at the touch of a button, automatic material calibration, auto shut-off, and a low battery indicator. It operates with a built-in lithium battery (3.7V 2000mAh) with a battery life of approximately 16 hours when fully charged. The probe length is 3' (91cm) with a diameter of 0.5" (12.7mm). The accuracy specifications are <10mm: ±0.1mm and at 10mm: ±(1% RDG + 0.1mm). The operating temperature ranges from 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C) for both the device and probe, with an operating humidity range of 20 to 80%. The storage temperature can range from 14 to 122°F (-10 to 50°C) with a humidity range of 20 to 70%. The kit includes ultrasonic couplant gel, probe, USB cable, and a carrying case. This device is particularly suited for monitoring and verifying pipes and pressure vessels in industrial manufacturing settings.
