The R1620 is a compact sound-level meter designed for both standalone operation and compatibility with the REED Smart Series app, which is available for download on Android and iOS. When paired with the app, the R1620 can be configured to data log measurements over specified intervals. This meter boasts high accuracy of ±1.5 dB, offers A & C frequency weighting, and features fast and slow time weighting. It is user-friendly, allowing for one-hand operation, and includes a 1.3" integrated display, which allows it to be used independently from a mobile device. The R1620 features a magnetic backing for mounting on metallic surfaces, a data hold function, low battery indicator, and auto shut-off. It also comes with a tripod mount for long-term monitoring and has an approximate battery life of 50 hours, depending on sampling time. The maximum number of connected devices is 6, with a maximum operating altitude of 6561' (2000 m). Its operating temperature range is 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C), while the storage temperature range is -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C). Both operating and storage humidity ranges are from 10 to 90%. When connected to the REED Smart Series app, the meter serves as a real-time data logger with a user-selectable sampling rate from 1 to 120 seconds, utilizing Bluetooth® 5.0 to provide connectivity to instruments up to 246' (75 m) away. Users can connect, measure, and data log up to 6 instruments simultaneously with easy setup and automatic app integration for compatible REED Smart Series instruments. Data can be exported in Excel or PDF formats for custom report creation, which can also be emailed from a mobile device. The kit includes the sound level meter, a windshield ball, and 4 x AAA batteries.
