The Werner® Bantam™ Switch is a cutting-edge self-retracting lifeline (SRL) designed to enhance safety and comfort in fall protection. This product connects the housing unit directly to the anchor point, rather than the D-ring on the harness, featuring an omni-directional swivel that helps reduce line twists. The reverse mechanism shifts the weight of the SRL away from the user, minimizing the load on their back and allowing for greater freedom of movement. The Werner® R530809 Bantam™ Switch has a working length of 9 feet and incorporates twin leg construction with a snap hook. Its lightweight and compact design utilize UHMWPE webbing, measuring 3/4 inches in width and 1/16 inches in thickness, which ensures that the fall arrest distance remains under 32 inches, while average arrest forces are kept below 900 lb. The thermoplastic housing includes an omni-directional small hook, which keeps the dorsal D-ring accessible for additional equipment or rescue operations, and features an integrated backpack-style energy absorber. The lifeline meets ANSI Z359.14-2021, Class 1 requirements and adheres to OSHA standards, supporting a weight capacity of 130-310 lbs.
