The FibreLight Cradle is a man overboard recovery device designed for the versatile recovery of casualties into various types and sizes of vessels, operable by a single crewmember. This device can serve multiple functions, including a boarding ladder, scramble net, and stretcher. Its lightweight and compact nature make it an efficient option compared to other MOB recovery devices. The cradle is constructed with carbon fiber rods enclosed in flanged tubular webbing, creating a robust structure through vertical members that support the rods. It has undergone rigorous testing, including the ISO 799 strength test, part of the SOLAS approval program, where successive rungs were loaded to over 900 kg for one minute without failure. The construction has also been validated for thermal aging, weathering, UV light, and oil resistance. The FibreLight Cradle holds a SOLAS type approval from Lloyd's Register and does not necessitate annual servicing, requiring only regular inspections and minimal maintenance.
