The EVS-1440B is engineered to maximize your shop's output, featuring a D1 4 spindle that is precision ground for accuracy and supported by Class 7 tapered roller bearings capable of a run out maximum of .0004''. The spindle includes an apron-mounted actuation control and jog button for easy gear engagement and spindle inching. The two-speed gearbox allows operators to work at low speeds from 40 to 365 RPM, and at high speeds from 220 to 2,000 RPM. The tailstock can be offset for turning taper, while the Meehanite castings retain their tolerance and remain rigid over many years of machining. Key features include compound and cross slide backlash elimination, an electronic chuck key docking station, a front removable chip tray, a full-length splash guard, an independent lead screw and feed rod, an integrated locking tool storage cabinet in the stand, an LED RPM readout for precise turning speeds, a safety on/off switch, and a threading dial indicator.
