DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant overgarments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while providing an ideal balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, these garments will not ignite and will not contribute to additional burn injury when appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. Constructed from flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric that has been flame-retardant treated, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments offer an inherent barrier against particles down to 1.0 micron in size. This next-generation disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology presents a differentiated multi-hazard solution, delivering superior particle barrier protection and improved durability with a lighter-weight fabric. Tyvek® 400 SFR garments can be worn over primary flame-resistant clothing when hazardous particle and flash fire hazards exist and are a more sustainable option that can be recycled through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if not contaminated with hazardous materials. Applications for these garments include oil and gas, general manufacturing and operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities. Key features include a relaxed fit coverall design, a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement, red trim elements, external red stitched seams, and a red zipper. These garments offer compliance with relevant safety standards and certifications, ensuring reliable performance in hazardous environments.
