DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant overgarments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while balancing protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments will not ignite or contribute to additional burn injuries when appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. These garments are composed of flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric, treated for flame resistance, and are available exclusively from DuPont. They provide an inherent barrier against particles down to 1.0 micron in size and represent a new generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology, offering superior particle barrier protection and improved durability in a lighter-weight fabric compared to traditional options. Tyvek® 400 SFR can be worn over primary flame-resistant garments like Nomex® in environments where hazardous particle and flash fire risks are present, and it is a more sustainable solution, as it can be recycled through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if uncontaminated by hazardous materials. Applications include oil & gas, general manufacturing/operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities. Key features include a relaxed fit coverall design with a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement, red trim elements, red external stitched seams, and a red zipper.
