DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant over garments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while ensuring a balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments do not ignite and do not contribute to additional burn injuries when appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. These garments are made from flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric, which has been treated for flame resistance and is uniquely available from DuPont. Tyvek® 400 SFR garments provide an inherent barrier against particles down to 1.0 micron in size and represent a new generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology. Compared to traditional options, they offer superior particle barrier protection and improved durability in a lighter-weight fabric, making them suitable for wearing over primary flame-resistant garments like Nomex® when hazardous particle and flash fire threats are present. Additionally, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are more sustainable and can be recycled through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if they are not contaminated with hazardous materials. Suitable applications for these garments include oil and gas, general manufacturing and operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities. Features include a relaxed fit coverall design with a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement and optimal fit when wearing primary flame-resistant protective clothing underneath, along with red trim elements, red external stitched seams, and a red zipper.
