DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant overgarments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while providing an optimal balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments will not ignite and will not contribute to additional burn injury when appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment is worn underneath. Constructed from flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric that has been flame-retardant treated, these garments offer an inherent barrier against particles down to 1.0 micron in size. Tyvek® 400 SFR represents a new generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology, offering a differentiated multi-hazard garment solution with superior particle barrier protection and improved durability in a lighter-weight fabric compared to traditional options. Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are suitable for use over primary flame-resistant garments like Nomex® when hazards from particles and flash fires are present, and they are also more sustainable, being recyclable through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if not contaminated with hazardous materials. The relaxed fit coverall design includes a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement, along with features such as red trim elements, red external stitched seams, and a red zipper. Applications include oil and gas, general manufacturing/operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities.
