DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant over garments designed to protect primary flame-resistant garments while providing an optimal balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments will not ignite and will not contribute to additional burn injury, provided that appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. Constructed from flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric that has been flame-retardant treated, these garments offer an inherent barrier against particles as small as 1.0 micron. Tyvek® 400 SFR represents an advanced generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology, providing superior particle barrier protection and improved durability in a lighter-weight fabric compared to traditional options. This combination of performance allows Tyvek® 400 SFR garments to be worn over primary flame-resistant garments in environments with hazardous particle and flash fire risks. Additionally, Tyvek® 400 SFR is more sustainable, with options for recycling through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if not contaminated with hazardous materials. Applications include oil and gas, general manufacturing, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities.
