DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant overgarments designed to protect primary flame-resistant garments while achieving a balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, these garments do not ignite and do not contribute to additional burn injury when appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. Made from flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric, which is flame-retardant treated and available exclusively from DuPont, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments provide an inherent barrier against particles as small as 1.0 micron. This new generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garments offers superior particle barrier protection and improved durability in a lighter-weight fabric. They can be worn over primary flame-resistant garments when hazardous particle and flash fire hazards are present. Additionally, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are a more sustainable solution and can be recycled through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if not contaminated with hazardous materials. Suitable applications include oil and gas, general manufacturing and operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities. The relaxed fit coverall design features a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement, red trim elements, red external stitched seams, and a red zipper.
