DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant over garments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while ensuring an optimal balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments will not ignite and will not contribute to additional burn injuries if suitable primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. These garments are composed of flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric treated to be flame-retardant, providing an inherent barrier against particles as small as 1.0 micron. Tyvek® 400 SFR represents a new generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology, offering superior particle barrier protection and enhanced durability in a lighter-weight fabric compared to traditional options. This performance enables Tyvek® 400 SFR garments to be worn over primary flame-resistant clothing in environments where hazardous particle and flash fire risks are present. Additionally, these garments offer a more sustainable solution, with the option to recycle through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program, provided they are free of hazardous material contamination. The relaxed fit coverall design includes a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement, red trim elements, red external stitched seams, and a red zipper. Applications for Tyvek® 400 SFR garments include oil and gas, general manufacturing and operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities.
