DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant overgarments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while offering an ideal balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments will not ignite and will not contribute to additional burn injuries if appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. Made from flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric that is flame-retardant treated, these garments provide an inherent barrier against particles as small as 1.0 micron. The Tyvek® 400 SFR represents a new generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology, offering superior particle barrier protection and improved durability in a lighter-weight fabric compared to traditional options. This performance makes Tyvek® 400 SFR garments suitable for wearing over primary flame-resistant garments like Nomex® when facing hazardous particle and flash fire risks. Additionally, Tyvek® 400 SFR is a more sustainable option, with recycling available through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if not contaminated with hazardous materials. Applications for these garments include oil and gas, general manufacturing and operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities. The garments feature a relaxed fit coverall design with a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement, red trim elements, external stitched seams, and a red zipper.
