DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant over garments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while offering a balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, these garments will not ignite or contribute to additional burn injuries when appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. Made from flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric that has been flame-retardant treated, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments provide an inherent barrier against particles down to 1.0 micron in size. Compared to traditional disposable secondary flame-resistant garments, Tyvek® 400 SFR offers superior particle barrier protection and improved durability, all within a lighter-weight fabric. This innovative garment can be worn over primary flame-resistant garments like Nomex® in hazardous particle and flash fire conditions, and it is a more sustainable option that can be recycled through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if not contaminated with hazardous materials. Applicable in various settings including oil and gas, general manufacturing, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities, the relaxed fit coverall design features a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement and optimal fit over primary flame-resistant protective clothing, complemented by red trim elements, red external stitched seams, and a red zipper.
