DuPont™ Tyvek® 400 SFR garments are lightweight, disposable secondary flame-resistant overgarments designed to protect and preserve primary flame-resistant garments while ensuring an ideal balance of protection, durability, and comfort. In the event of a flash fire, Tyvek® 400 SFR garments will not ignite and will not contribute to additional burn injury when appropriate primary flame-resistant personal protective equipment, such as DuPont™ Nomex®, is worn underneath. These garments are composed of flash spun high-density polyethylene breathable nonwoven Tyvek® fabric, which has been flame-retardant treated and is exclusively available from DuPont®. Tyvek® 400 SFR garments provide an inherent barrier against particles down to 1.0 micron in size, representing a new generation of disposable secondary flame-resistant garment technology. Compared to traditional disposable secondary flame-resistant garments, Tyvek® 400 SFR offers superior particle barrier protection and improved durability in a lighter-weight fabric, making it suitable for use over primary flame-resistant garments like Nomex® where hazardous particle and flash fire risks exist. Additionally, Tyvek® 400 SFR is a sustainable garment option that can be recycled through the Tyvek® protective apparel recycling program if not contaminated with hazardous materials. Suitable applications include oil and gas, general manufacturing and operations, maintenance, dirty jobs, environmental services, and utilities. Key features include a relaxed fit coverall design with a diamond gusset crotch for unrestricted movement and optimal fit when wearing primary flame-resistant protective clothing beneath, complemented by red trim elements, red external stitched seams, and a red zipper.
