The Solstice Safeguard Bed emulates the therapeutic appearance of the Solstice Bed while incorporating features that enhance the safety of fall risk patients. It includes durable, one-piece, rotationally molded construction made of high-impact "no break" polyethylene, which provides increased strength. The design features molded-in, raised head and footboards to prevent mattresses from sliding, and seamless, raised wall panels that run partially along both lengths of the bed to prevent falls and related injuries. The bed is designed for use with a 36" x 75" mattress or smaller, and a 6" thick mattress is recommended (mattresses sold separately). It includes a safety rail to assist in preventing falls, an angled lowered side rail for easier entry and exit, and sound-dampening qualities. The bed is easy to clean, sanitize, and maintain, and can be bolted to the floor using concealed pilot holes and hardware of your choice. Additionally, it is GREENGUARD Gold certified, passes flammability tests according to UL 94 HB, and noise generation tests demonstrate it produces half as many decibels compared to steel. Tested to ISO 22196, it shows a greater than 99% reduction in bacteria and is also flame retardant, passing CAL 133 standards. Manufactured to ISO quality standards in the USA, the bed features ballast doors for additional stability, is ligature resistant, and comes with a 10-year factory warranty.
