The Solstice Safeguard Bed emulates the therapeutic appearance of the Solstice Bed while incorporating features designed to enhance the safety of fall risk patients. It includes durable, one-piece rotationally molded construction for increased strength, made from high impact "no break" polyethylene. The bed is equipped with molded-in, raised head and footboards to prevent sliding of the mattress and seamless raised wall panels that run partially along both lengths to help prevent falls and related injuries. It is designed for use with a 36" x 75" mattress or smaller, with a safety rail to prevent falls; a 6" thick mattress is recommended, sold separately. The bed features an angled lowered side rail for easier entry and exit and includes sound dampening properties, making it easy to clean, sanitize, and maintain. It can be bolted to the floor via concealed pilot holes with hardware of your choice. The bed is GREENGUARD Gold certified, passes flammability UL 94 HB, and has undergone noise generation testing (RAL-AN23-010) that confirms it produces half as many decibels as steel. Additionally, it has been tested to ISO 22196, showing a greater than 99% reduction in bacteria, and is flame retardant, passing CAL 133. Manufactured to ISO quality standards in the USA, the bed features ballast doors for weighing down and is ligature resistant. The product comes with a 10-year factory warranty, and it is patent pending.
