The Solstice Safeguard Bed emulates the therapeutic appearance of the Solstice Bed while incorporating features that enhance the safety of fall risk patients. It includes durable, one-piece, rotationally molded construction made from high-impact "No Break" polyethylene. The design features molded-in, raised head and footboards to prevent mattress sliding and seamless, raised wall panels that run partially along both lengths of the bed, helping to prevent falls and fall-related injuries. The bed is compatible with a 36" x 75" mattress or smaller, with a 6" thick mattress recommended (mattresses sold separately). It also includes a safety rail to provide extra security, an angled lowered side rail for easier entry and exit, and sound dampening features. The Solstice Safeguard Bed is easy to clean and maintain, can be bolted to the floor via concealed pilot holes, and is Greenguard Gold certified. It passes flammability test UL 94 HB and has undergone a noise generation test (RAL-AN23-010), producing half as many decibels as steel. Additionally, it has been tested to ISO 22196, showing a greater than 99% reduction in bacteria, is flame retardant (passes CAL 133), and is manufactured to ISO quality standards in the USA. The design includes ballast doors for added stability, is ligature resistant, and comes with a 10-year factory warranty. The product is patent pending.
