The Solstice Safeguard bed emulates the therapeutic appearance of the Solstice bed while incorporating features designed to enhance the safety of fall risk patients. It features durable, one-piece, rotationally molded construction using high impact "no break" polyethylene, ensuring increased strength and longevity. Molded-in, raised head and footboards prevent mattresses from sliding, while seamless, raised wall panels run partially along both lengths of the bed to minimize the risk of falls and fall-related injuries. It accommodates a 36" x 75" mattress or smaller and includes a safety rail to help prevent falls, with a recommended 6" thick mattress (sold separately). An angled lower side rail facilitates easier entry and exit, and the bed is designed for sound dampening, easy cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance. It can be bolted to the floor through concealed pilot holes, ensuring stability. The bed is Greenguard Gold certified, passes flammability standards of UL 94 HB, and demonstrates noise generation levels that are half as many decibels compared to steel, as per the noise generation test RAL-AN23-010. It also shows a greater than 99% reduction in bacteria from ISO 22196 testing, is flame retardant (passes CAL 133), and is manufactured to ISO quality standards in the USA. Additional features include ballast doors for weighing down beds, ligature resistance, and a 10-year factory warranty. The product is patent pending.
