The kit includes a soft FR/AR heavyweight fleece for warmth and protection, featuring a large drawstring hood that fits over a hard hat and a generous cut that allows for unrestricted movement. Additional attributes include rib knit cuffs and waistband to prevent riding up, a covered FR zipper front closure, and a lining for added comfort and protection. The inherently flame resistant fabric provides FR protection that will not wash or wear out, as well as a fabric that will not melt, drip, or ignite. Cord locks keep the hood cinched and in place, and there are two front patch pockets. The arc rating is 39 cal/cm², and it is classified as Cat Level 3. The materials used include 14 oz. FR fleece and a 6.5 oz. waffle liner. Compliance certifications include CSA Z462 and ASTM F1506 for arc flash, OSHA 1910.269, NFPA 70E for arc flash, and NFPA 2112. For product care, it is advised to read the garment label and launder according to the instructions, avoiding chlorine bleach, detergents containing bleach, fabric softeners, ironing, and dry cleaning. The recommended laundering instructions are to machine wash warm and tumble dry low, ensuring to wash according to these guidelines to maintain fabric performance when the garment becomes soiled with dirt, greases, or oils. If contaminants cannot be removed after laundering, it is recommended to discontinue use of the garment.
