The kit includes a soft FR/AR heavyweight fleece garment designed for warmth and protection, featuring a large drawstring hood that fits over hard hats and a generous cut for unrestricted movement. The garment is equipped with rib knit cuffs and a waistband to prevent riding up, along with a covered FR zipper front closure for enhanced durability. It is lined for added comfort and inherently flame-resistant, ensuring the FR protection will not wash or wear out. The FR fabric is designed not to melt, drip, or ignite, and cord locks keep the hood cinched and in place. Additionally, the design incorporates two front patch pockets and an arc rating of 39 cal/cm², classified as Cat 3. The material composition includes 14 oz. FR fleece and a 6.5 oz. waffle liner. The product complies with multiple safety standards including CSA Z462 for arc flash (Canada), ASTM F1506 for arc flash, OSHA 1910.269, NFPA 70E for arc flash, and NFPA 2112. For product care, it is advised to read the garment label and launder according to the instructions, which recommend machine washing in warm water and tumble drying on low, while avoiding chlorine bleach, fabric softeners, ironing, and dry cleaning. Proper laundering is crucial to remove contaminants and maintain fabric performance; if contaminants cannot be removed, it is recommended to discontinue use of the garment.
