The DRIFIRE® FR Essentials Zip Hoodie is designed for comfort and durability in hazardous work environments, featuring a durable flame-resistant fabric that ensures long-lasting protection and superior comfort. The hoodie includes a large drawstring hood that fits over a hard hat, rib knit cuffs and waistband to prevent riding up, and a generous cut for unrestricted movement. It is made from soft FR/AR midweight fleece, providing warmth and protection, with an arc rating of 19 cal/cm² and classified as Cat level 2. The material weighs 10 oz. and complies with several important safety standards, including NFPA 70E for arc flash, UL certification to NFPA 2112, ASTM F1506 for arc flash, CSA Z462 for arc flash in Canada, and OSHA 1910.269. For product care, it is advised to read the garment label and launder according to its instructions, avoiding hydrogen peroxide, chlorine bleach, detergents containing either, fabric softeners, or starch. The hoodie should be washed separately from other garments in a machine on a warm cycle (maximum 165°F/74°C) with detergent only and is also dry cleanable. Proper laundering ensures the removal of contaminants such as dirt, grease, and oils to maintain fabric performance, and if contaminants persist after washing, it is recommended to discontinue use of the garment.
