The kit includes a dual hazard protection garment designed to provide safety against arc flash and flash fire, featuring moisture-wicking and breathable fabric for enhanced comfort. This inherently flame-resistant material offers FR protection that will not wash or wear out, with a 6.5 oz. Westex® DH construction. The garment is equipped with an FR hook and loop front closure and FR silver reflective trim. It has an arc rating of 8.9 cal/cm² and is classified as Cat level 2. Compliance certifications include NFPA 70E for arc flash, UL certification to NFPA 2112, ANSI/ISEA 107 type R class 2 compliance, ASTM F1506 for arc flash, and CSA Z462 for arc flash in Canada. It also complies with OSHA 1910.269. For product care, it is important to read the garment label and launder according to the provided instructions, avoiding the use of bleach, chlorine, and fabric softeners. The recommended washing method involves turning the garment inside out, machine washing in cold water (maximum temperature of 80°F / 27°C), and tumble drying on low (maximum temperature of 140°F / 60°C). To maintain fabric performance and address contaminants such as dirt, greases, and oils, follow the laundering instructions carefully, and discontinue use if contaminants cannot be removed.
