The kit includes a dual hazard protection garment designed to offer protection against arc flash and flash fire. It features moisture-wicking and breathable fabric for enhanced comfort and is inherently flame resistant, ensuring that its FR protection will not wash or wear out over time. The garment is equipped with a flame-resistant hook and loop front closure and features FR silver reflective trim. It has an arc rating of 8.9 cal/cm² and is classified under Cat Level 2, made from 6.5 oz. Westex® DH material. Compliance certifications include adherence to NFPA 70E for arc flash, UL certification to NFPA 2112, ANSI/ISEA 107 type R class 2 standards, ASTM F1506 for arc flash, and CSA Z462 for arc flash in Canada, as well as compliance with OSHA 1910.269. For product care, it is essential to follow the garment label instructions: avoid using bleach, chlorine, or fabric softeners; turn the garment inside out before washing; machine wash in cold water (maximum 80°F / 27°C) and tumble dry on low (maximum 140°F / 60°C). Proper laundering is crucial to remove contaminants and maintain fabric performance; discontinuation of use is recommended if contaminants cannot be removed after laundering.
