The kit includes a dual hazard protection garment designed for optimal safety against arc flash and flash fire, featuring moisture-wicking and breathable fabric for enhanced comfort. This inherently flame-resistant apparel ensures that the FR protection will not wash or wear out over time and is equipped with a FR hook and loop front closure, as well as FR silver reflective trim. The garment boasts an arc rating of 8.9 cal/cm² and falls within Category 2 (Cat 2). Constructed from 6.5 oz. Westex® DH material, it complies with several safety standards, including NFPA 70E for arc flash, UL certification to NFPA 2112, and ANSI/ISEA 107 type R class 2. Additionally, it meets ASTM F1506 and CSA Z462 standards for arc flash in Canada, as well as OSHA 1910.269 compliance. For product care, it is essential to follow the garment label instructions, which recommend washing the garment inside out in cold water (maximum 80°F / 27°C) and tumble drying on low (maximum 140°F / 60°C), while avoiding bleach, chlorine, and fabric softeners to maintain fabric performance. If contaminants persist after laundering, it is advised to discontinue use of the garment.
