The Ultra-Drain Guard® is a specialized catch basin insert designed to remove heavy metals from stormwater runoff using six pounds of a custom blend of heavy metal removal media contained in quilted sections sewn into the body of the unit. The lower portion of the unit holds the media, while an impermeable PVC skirt at the top funnels all water to this section, forcing it to pass through the media before entering the storm drain. This best management practice (BMP) effectively removes hydrocarbons, heavy metals, sediments, and other organics from stormwater and industrial runoff at a flow rate of 90 GPM. The unit is made from 8 oz non-woven material and has a weight capacity of 30 lb of sediment and 0.419 lb of metal.
