The Ultra-Self Bailer® kit is designed to passively filter hydrocarbons from stormwater in outdoor spill containment products, addressing the challenge of rainfall filling containment sumps and reducing their capacity to hold chemicals, fuel, or hazardous materials. It attaches to any spill containment unit, typically via a bulkhead fitting, allowing rainwater to drain through while the filter media inside removes residual oil, gas, or hydrocarbons, ensuring that only clean water exits. In the event of a spill, the filter media swells and seals off the bailer to prevent any liquid from escaping. The system provides the best protection for non-monitored containment sites and helps eliminate rainwater collection problems in outdoor containment products. Installation is simple and compatible with almost any UltraTech containment product. Hydrocarbon sheens and modest spills are captured while clean stormwater drains through the outflow port. The device features an auto shut-off mechanism that activates during larger or concentrated spills, and a manual shut-off valve is available to secure draining operations or allow for easy filter cartridge replacement. The filter cartridges are designed for quick and easy replacement, and the entire unit is constructed from PVC, which will not rust or corrode.
