The Ultra-Self Bailer® is designed to passively filter hydrocarbons from stormwater in outdoor spill containment products, addressing the challenge of rainwater filling containment sumps and reducing spill capacity. It attaches to any spill containment unit, typically via a bulkhead fitting, allowing rainwater to drain through while filter media inside removes residual oil, gas, or hydrocarbons, permitting only clean water to exit. In the event of a spill, the media swells to completely seal off the bailer, preventing liquid escape. The device features simple installation compatible with most UltraTech containment products, captures hydrocarbon sheens and modest spills while larger or concentrated spills trigger an auto shut-off mechanism, and includes a manual shut-off valve to secure draining operations or enable filter cartridge replacement. The filters are quickly and easily replaced, and the PVC construction ensures resistance to rust and corrosion. Warranty information is provided with the product.
