These cell strainers are designed for detaching, isolating, and straining cells from clusters and tissues, with built-in compatibility for 12.75mm culture tubes and FACS™ tubes, making them suitable for pre-sorting and preparing samples for fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS)™. They feature pore sizes of 20µm, 35µm, 70µm, and 100µm, each color-coded by pore size, typically using a 70µm porous mesh to obtain a single-cell suspension and prevent clogging in FACS™ instrumentation. The diameter and wall thickness of the tube's neck are maintained to very tight tolerances to ensure consistent compatibility with automated instruments. Options include the standard two-position culture cap, no cap, or a cap containing a 70µm nylon mesh screen to assist in cell sorting and straining applications. The strainers are supplied sterile in pouches of 25 strainer caps and are e-beam sterilized with a Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10⁻⁶. Each tube has a 5ml capacity and is primarily used for collecting dissociated samples for subsequent processing in automated flow cytometry instruments.
