All corners are formed at 90° angles and the bottom surface is uniformly flat, which helps reduce the use of costly reagents and antibodies, with popular mini-gel boxes requiring only about 4 ml of reagent. Many boxes are also available in light-blocking opaque black, suitable for light-sensitive samples.
