MTC™ Bio's Erlenmeyer shaker flasks are available in polycarbonate, PETG, or styrene/butadiene (for jumbo flasks only) materials. They feature polypropylene screw caps vented with 0.2 µm membranes to increase air transmission and enhance cell growth. The mouth size conforms to the international SBS standard for quick and secure connections to bioreactor equipment. Polycarbonate flasks and jumbo Fernbach flasks have baffled (ribbed) bottoms to provide increased oxygenation and mixing efficiency even at lower shaking speeds. All flasks are individually wrapped and gamma sterilized to a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10^-6. They are free from RNase, DNase, pyrogens, endotoxins, and human DNA. Polycarbonate flasks are autoclavable at 121°C and 15 psi for 30 minutes.
