Preferred for its hard surface, beauty, and durability, the solid maple butcher block used by BenchPro™ is made from 1-3/4 inch thick strips of genuine maple hardwood. To prevent warpage and splitting, the wood is dried in a low-heat atmosphere for almost one year before being cut into strips and glued edge to edge. The hardwood strips vary in width, with some strips being single and others double wide, providing added strength and reducing the possibility of splitting along the seams. The kit includes a butcher block top with a 1,200 lb. capacity supported by strong cold rolled steel, equipped with 5-inch polyurethane casters for mobility. The product features quick assembly and the maple butcher block tops are generally treated with oil for industrial assembly applications. This product is backed by a 25-year unconditional warranty.
