Preferred for its hard surface, beauty, and durability, the solid maple butcher block used by BenchPro™ is made from 1-3/4 inch thick strips of genuine maple hardwood. The wood is dried in a low-heat atmosphere for almost one year before being cut into strips and glued edge to edge to prevent warpage and splitting. The hardwood strips vary in width, with some strips single and some double wide, providing added strength and reducing the possibility of splitting along the seams. The kit includes a butcher block top mounted on a frame constructed of strong cold rolled steel with a 1,200 lb. capacity and equipped with 5-inch polyurethane casters for mobility. The maple butcher block tops are generally treated with oil suitable for industrial assembly applications. The product offers quick assembly and is backed by a 25-year unconditional warranty.
