Preferred for its hard surface, beauty, and durability, the solid maple butcher block used by BenchPro™ is made from 1-3/4 inch thick strips of genuine maple hardwood. To prevent warpage and splitting, the wood is dried in a low-heat atmosphere for almost one year before being cut into strips and glued edge to edge. The hardwood strips vary in width, with some strips being single and others double wide, providing added strength while reducing the possibility of splitting along seams. The maple butcher block tops are generally treated with oil for industrial assembly applications. The package includes the assembled butcher block top, which can be assembled in less than one minute, and it comes with a 25-year unconditional warranty.
