Preferred for its hard surface, beauty, and durability, the solid maple butcher block used by BenchPro™ is made from 1-3/4 inch thick strips of genuine maple hardwood. The wood is dried in a low-heat atmosphere for almost one year before being cut into strips and glued edge to edge to prevent warpage and splitting. The hardwood strips vary in width, with some strips being single and others double wide, which adds strength while reducing the possibility of splitting along seams. The maple butcher block tops are generally treated with oil for industrial assembly applications. The kit includes the maple butcher block top, and the product features a 25-year unconditional warranty, with assembly possible in less than one minute.
