The Baileigh Industrial® PL-1440E-1 lathe features precision induction hardened ground bed-ways, spindle roller bearings, and high-quality steel hardened gears in the headstock for enhanced durability. It includes a segment-leading 2" spindle bore, an enclosed gearbox design, a standard coolant system, and a lead screw cover for smooth and quiet operation while maintaining peak performance. The lathe runs on 230-volt single-phase power with 3HP for greater torque, supporting deeper cuts and tougher materials without the need for 3-phase power. It offers 8 spindle speeds ranging from 90 to 1,800 RPM and comes with a standard 2-axis DRO digital readout to improve dimensional control and repeatability. A full safety and containment package includes a foot brake, guards, splash protection, and a lead screw cover to enhance safer operation.
