The rugged and reliable 2.5 gal (9.5 L) Eagle® Yellow Type I steel safety can for diesel (model UI25SY) weighs 5.7 lbs. (2.6 kg) when empty and approximately 24 lbs (11 kg) when full, making it suitable for quick fuel-ups. The pour or fill hole has an inner diameter of 1.65 in (4.19 cm), and the can measures 10 inches (25.4 cm) high with an outer diameter of 11.25 inches (28.6 cm), allowing for easy storage in Eagle® safety cabinets. Constructed from 24-gauge, hot dip, galvanized steel using a deep-drawn, seamless process that eliminates top or side seams, this design prevents leaks and gas odor escape. The can features a self-closing, leak-tested lid with a double interlock, no-weld bottom seam to prevent spills if dropped or knocked over. A nitrile gasket automatically releases vapors between 3 and 5 psi internal pressure to avoid rupture, while a non-sparking flame arrester absorbs and dissipates heat to prevent ignition or explosion. It includes a comfort grip and trigger release handle to enable smooth pouring without excessive wrist strain, with model UI10FSG also incorporating a fixed steel handle for easy carrying when full. These cans are 100 percent American-made, accepted under CARB, meet OSHA and NFPA Code 30 requirements, are UL and ULC-listed, and FM-approved for safe storage and handling of flammable liquids.
