The Fluke 1587T true-rms telecom megohmmeter/insulation resistance tester and multimeter combines a digital insulation tester with a fully-featured true RMS digital multimeter into a single compact handheld unit, providing maximum versatility for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance in telecom applications. It features true RMS measurements, insulation test voltages of 50V and 100V, an insulation test range from 0.01 MΩ to 2 GΩ, and live circuit detection that prevents insulation testing when voltage exceeds 30V. The unit includes auto-discharge of capacitive voltage, measurements of AC/DC voltage, DC millivolts, AC/DC milliamps, resistance and continuity, capacitance, diode test, temperature, min/max, and frequency, as well as a filter for motor drive measurements. The large backlit display ensures readability and the device automatically powers off to save battery life. It meets CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V measurement category standards for safety.
