The kit features angled tips designed to securely hold rings with downward pressure, preventing slipping, and is made from two materials optimized for strength: hardened bearing steel for the tips to enhance shear strength and a separate material for the jaws. The crimped-in cylindrical tips are smooth, straight, burr-free, and permanently held by a crimp at the end of each jaw to ensure a consistent and controlled grip. The combination of outward-angled tips and flat bases creates a secure hold that reduces twisting and slipping risks. Long, slim jaws with a compact joint allow access deep into cavities or bores. The spring-loaded, bolted joint has two forged handles permanently bolted together, with an oiled, hidden spring for smooth, quiet operation; the joint is not adjustable or serviceable. Tip size and function are clearly laser-marked for easy reference. The roll design holds the pliers securely, preventing sliding while allowing quick access, and is made from abrasion- and tear-resistant polyurethane-backed 600 x 600 denier polyester with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating. It includes tools for internal ring sizes (bore ID) from 3/8 to 3 inches (ASME) and external ring sizes (shaft OD) from 5/16 to 2-1/2 inches (ASME). The roll secures with a hook-and-loop fastener, and the broad, straight-edged jaws firmly grasp flat parts, providing additional leverage for twisting or bending parts and materials.
