The sockets feature large, stamped markings permanently impressed into the material by a roll-stamp die, designed to be as large as possible while still readable along the socket's curved surface. The exterior finish is chrome-plated, while the interior is chrome-plated and supplemented with a clear coat or painted finish where needed for full coverage. The 6-point socket openings provide an exact fit and maximum contact for hex fasteners, with radiused corners that prevent fastener round-off by applying force to the fastener's flat sides.
