The kit includes three 9-inch lock ring pliers: a standard lock ring plier, a curved tip lock ring plier, and a 90-degree tip lock ring plier. The jaws taper to a fine tip at the nose with a thick base to prevent twisting, and the stout, strong build resists bending or flexing along the entire length of the pliers. The crosscut teeth distribute force evenly for a sure grip in any direction, while the side cutter features induction-hardened blades with a hardness rating of HRC 58-64, enabling clean snips of copper, aluminum, and other soft metal wire ranging from 6 to 28 AWG. The slim, nonslip grips provide comfort and control without adding bulk. These pliers are designed to spread retaining rings for installation or removal, with flat tips that fit between the ends of external retaining rings, suitable for various automotive and machine equipment applications. The serrated tips have deep, waffle-pattern serrations to securely grip each end of the ring while spreading it open. An external spring located between the handles provides spring action to close the jaws, allowing the jaws to reset to a closed position and remain as long and lean as possible for tight access situations.
