The insulated pliers are designed for electrical work with handles insulated to protect against electrical shock for voltages up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC. Each tool is individually tested and VDE certified in accordance with IEC 60900. They feature dedicated wire cutters with a 0.9 inch cutting capacity for a variety of wire and cable sizes, utilizing two opposing knives that meet in the center to provide clean cuts with less effort. The handles have flared tops that act as a positive stop to prevent the hand from slipping toward the conductive head of the pliers. The body is made of drop-forged steel that is oil-hardened to 43 - 45 HRC and enamel-coated, while the yellow handle core is constructed of hard polypropylene and the red handle overmold is made from a soft, grippy thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
