The Fluke 179 ESFP True RMS digital multimeter is designed for repairing most electrical and electronic problems, featuring true-RMS measurements, manual and automatic ranging, display hold and auto hold, and the ability to test frequency, capacitance, resistance, continuity, and diodes. It records signal fluctuations with min/max/average functions and allows closed case calibration through the front panel. The meter includes an ergonomic case with an integrated protective holster and a much larger, backlit display that improves usability compared to Fluke's original 70 series. The kit includes TP220 test probes designed for probing closely spaced or recessed terminals with hard stainless steel probe tips, a flat blade design for secure contact in blade-type electrical wall sockets, rubber overmolded surfaces with finger-hugging curves for comfortable grip, sharp 12 mm stainless tips, safety shrouded standard diameter banana plugs, right-angle connector on one end and straight connector on the other, reinforced strain relief, and a 1.5-meter silicone-insulated wire resistant to heat and cold. These probes are UL listed and rated CAT IV 600V, CAT III 1000V at 10A. The AC280 accessory features nickel-plated clips with rubber overmolded, finger-hugging surfaces for reliable grip, a profile that narrows to 5.6 mm at the tip, a hook opening measuring 6.4 mm at the front and 2 mm at the base, UL listing, and safety ratings of CAT IV 600V, CAT III 1000V, with a 3A rating. The 80BK-A K-type thermocouple includes a standard shrouded banana jack, measures temperature from -40° to 260°C, is constructed in one piece for convenience, has an accuracy of ±2.2 °C or 2% whichever is greater (0° to 260°C), and includes a 1 m lead compatible with DMMs that support temperature measurement.
