The kit features a short arm L-key design optimized for access, allowing users to work in tighter spaces with greater control, while larger sizes have longer keys for increased leverage where it matters. The hex keys are precisely manufactured with tight fit geometry on the large end of the applicable range to reduce slop in fasteners, and two measures of tolerance control—from point-to-point and side-to-side—ensure high dimensional accuracy and consistency. The keys include a 20° ball angle to enhance access while maintaining strength, and have refined edges with slightly chamfered edges except for the smallest sizes (1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.050 in., 1/16 in., and 5/64 in.) and a smooth top face to optimize fastener engagement. Made from 8660 nickel chromium molybdenum steel heat-treated to 54-58 HRC, the tools are hard but not brittle. They have a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate finish tested by submersion in 1% saltwater for 45 hours, and clear markings in most sizes featuring both high-visibility laser and stamped markings. The included holder organizes the L-keys facing forward for quick access and features self-aligning key slots uniquely shaped to guide the head of each L-key into alignment.
