The hex key set is designed with high leverage, featuring longer keys in the largest sizes to increase leverage where it matters most. Tolerances are controlled in two dimensions—point-to-point and side-to-side—to ensure high standards of dimensional accuracy and consistency. The keys incorporate a 20° ball angle for increased access to fasteners while maintaining strength. Their geometry is precisely manufactured to fit tightly on the larger end of the range, reducing slop in fasteners. The edges are slightly chamfered, except on smaller sizes such as 1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.050 in., 1/16 in., and 5/64 in., and the top face is smooth to optimize engagement with fasteners. Constructed from 8660 nickel chromium molybdenum steel heat-treated to 54-58 HRC, the L-keys provide maximum torque strength, consistently exceeding ASME minimum torsion load standards and ISO minimum proof torque standards. They feature a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate finish, tested by submersion in a 1% saltwater solution for 45 hours after isopropyl alcohol cleaning, followed by rinsing and air drying. Except for the smallest sizes, keys have clear high-visibility laser and stamped markings indicating size. The included holder organizes keys facing forward for quick access and can be configured low-profile by facing the keys to the side. Warranty terms cover defects in materials and workmanship.
