The kit features high leverage by designing the keys to be longer, increasing leverage where it matters, and ensures a tight fit with fasteners through precise manufacturing of hex key geometry on the large end of the applicable range, resulting in less slop. It maintains two measures of tolerance control, measuring hex key tolerances from point-to-point and side-to-side to ensure dimensional accuracy and consistency. The keys have refined edges with slightly chamfered edges, except for the smallest sizes (1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.050 in., 1/16 in., and 5/64 in.), and a smooth top face to optimize engagement with fasteners. Made from 8660 nickel chromium molybdenum steel heat-treated to 54-58 HRC, the L-keys achieve maximum torque strength that consistently exceeds ASME standards for minimum torsion load and ISO standards for minimum proof torque. All keys feature a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate finish, tested by wiping with isopropyl alcohol, submerging in a 1% saltwater solution for 45 hours, rinsing with tap water, and air drying. Markings are clear with both high-visibility laser and stamped sizes except for the smallest sizes. The holder is designed for quick access with L-keys facing forward, enabling easy access without moving others, or it can be arranged low-profile by facing the L-keys to the side. Self-aligning key slots guide each L-key head into alignment, and the holder is made of durable material providing firm organization.
