The Tekton hex key set features keys designed with extended length to increase leverage and precisely manufactured hex key geometry on the large end of each size range to ensure a tight fit with fasteners and reduced slop. Tolerance control is maintained through dual measurements, point-to-point and side-to-side, ensuring high dimensional accuracy and consistency. The keys include slightly chamfered edges, except for the smallest sizes (1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.050 in., 1/16 in., and 5/64 in.), and have smooth top faces for optimized fastener engagement. Constructed of 8660 nickel chromium molybdenum steel heat-treated to 54-58 HRC, the L-keys provide maximum torque strength exceeding ASME minimum torsion load and ISO minimum proof torque standards. Each key features a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate finish tested by 45 hours in 1% saltwater after isopropyl alcohol cleaning, rinsing, and air drying. All but the smallest keys are marked with both high-visibility laser and stamped size markings. The holder is designed for quick access by organizing keys facing forward, while also allowing side-facing, low-profile organization.
